2013 Transit Awareness Day
PDF Print E-mail

Join us March 4 & 5, 2013 for Transit Awareness Day!  The two-day advocacy program will include an Invest in Transit rally, meetings with lawmakers, a legislative reception, and "Transit Means Business" displays in The Well of our state's Legislative Office Building (LOB) in Albany.

Last year's Transit Awareness Day was successful because of YOU!  This year's program will build on that success and drive home the message that public transportation is a driving force for New York State's economy.  All NYPTA business partners, with a special emphasis on companies with a presence in New York State, are encouraged to attend Transit Awareness Day and share information about the impact their company has on New York State's economic success.

Call Your Legislators!

Please be sure to call your local legislators and extend a personal invitation to Monday evening's Legislative Reception, and to schedule personal meetings for Monday, March 4, between 1:00pm and 4:30pm, and throughout the day on Tuesday, March 5th.  If you need assistance coordinating or scheduling appointments, please contact NYPTA at (518) 434-9060.

Registration

The registration fee is $75 per person for the first registrant of an organization and $40 for each additional registrant. It is extremely important to have a strong showing of transit managers, staff and business partners. We encourage your participation and ask you to consider bringing as many people from your organization as possible. There is strength in numbers! Registration must be received at NYPTA Headquarters prior to the event and no later than February 22nd.

Please follow these important steps:
1. Visit www.nystransit/taa13 to register online or click here to download the registration brochure. Your registration fee will support all advocacy and educational hand-outs, t-shirts, the legislative
